Alagie Saidy- Barrow, the former TRRC Investigator has diagnosed the growing deepening rift within the National People's Party (NPP).

The recent leaked audio of Ebrima Ceesay, former  Secretary to Cabinet of President Barrow, saying all of them will go to jail if the party collapses has added to the growing fracas in the party.

He blamed the National People's Party (NPP) for its underperformance in the recent Parliamentary and council elections.

Mr Barrow made these remarks on Tuesday 2, May 2023 at the West Coast Radio, Coffee Time show with Peter Radio.

Alagie Barrow, described the leaked audio of Ebrima Ceesay and other growing feud within NPP as lack of core values in the party.

In his own words: “Ebrima Ceesay's message to his NPP colleagues got my attention for three reasons; it affirmed my believe that when you coalesce within anyone or anything other than shared values, it is only a matter of time before the centre will not hold any longer. Things will eventually fall apart. What holds the party together is not shared values, but a weak thread that binds individual  interests” he stated.

He added: “The fact that Ebrima Ceesay is worried about him and his colleagues going to prison brings home my position that African leaders immersed themselves so much that  leaving power becomes existential threat to them. So they will do anything to stay in power for eternity. They feels that prison awaits them because of their corruption” he concluded.

There is a road network extension in the country; everybody can attest to that. Farmers were given Fertiliser and equipment. I will give him 85 % in terms of development rating for 2024.” he said

Mr. Dampha further elaborated on the successful hosting of the OIC Summit in the Gambia as well as the availing of a conclusive environment for private businesses and development initiatives to flourish.

“Hamidou Jah is producing Gambian-grown rice thanks to the conclusive environment.”.

“his development trajectory is more like a problem solver, not a firefighter. When there is a problem, he reacts quickly and finds out the root course of that problem. He worked on that and found a solution. He is a proactive leader.” he remarked.

Reacting to the recent allegations of vote rigging by the NPP, Mr Dampha said the government has distanced itself from such irresponsible and baseless allegations.
