COPG calls on President Barrow to desist from hateful and intimidating speeches.

Mr. President, the Coalition of Progressive Gambians is once again very disappointed by your recent speech during the opening of your party's political bureau in Brikama. Mr. President, it's important to note that such rhetorics are very divisive and dangerous especially at a time when Gambians are faced with unprecedented economic hardship and challenges. Our expectations at these hard times are the way forward for a sinking economy, widespread corruption, unemployment, drugs and illegal migration which claims a lot of young lives. It is the responsibility of your government to make proposals and plans to mitigate these problems. We are not against the inauguration of your party's political bureau, but expected to hear what your leadership through your party can do to better the lives of the Gambians whose votes gave you the executive powers to lead and become President.

Mr. President we believe history is always a learning point and the past should teach you and those around you that there's always an end. Better is the end of anything than its beginning for the end is always the time to reap whatever you sow. Also remember that the people that crowd you and cloud your mind and decisions are the same people that will disown you when the going gets tough and at its end. We the CoPG want to remind you that you're the leader of a great and decent people so much is expected of these qualities as you're Gambian. We urge you to immediately desist from such utterances and use the limited time as the head of state to unite Gambians, listen to them, shoulder their problems and be the solution as this is what is expected of a good, dedicated and responsible leader. Time is too short and situations are too tough to engage on hate and divisive speeches that only harbour hate. In the 21st century when most leaders are doing their all to develop their countries it's only in The Gambia that such political feuds are heard. Our daily broadcasts and morning radio programs are polluted with information of political arguments and hate speeches. Gambians are really fed up with these enormous hatred by the political leadership which is a curse to our country's progress and development.

Mr. President, we expect you, as the occupant of the Office of the Presidency and for the respect of the Office of the President to lead by example. We urge you to put a stop to such unpleasant tones and compose yourself to the attitude of the most senior statesman, the President of the Republic of The Gambia.

Once again Mr. President, The Gambia is regarded as one of the most peaceful countries, therefore the peace, tranquility and peaceful coexistence of the Gambian people must never be compromised by the interest of an individual, group or political party. For if we insist on pursuing our personal goals without keeping up to our collective responsibilities we shall be divided and fall. We the CoPG will never support anything that will divide Gambians and The Gambia.

Essa Dampha says there is no credible opposition to match Barrow

By: Modou Touray

Mr Essa Dampha, the outspoken aide on media for President Adama Barrow, asserted that the President has the prospects of winning the 2026 election with a landslide.

He justified his argument on the basis that the President has achieved monumental gains in terms of delivery adequately responding to the plights of the Gambian People.

“Electricity is accessible to remote communities, health Centres, and Posts, and ambulances were distributed across the length and breadth of the country. He wants to decentralize development. There is a road network extension in the country; everybody can attest to that. Farmers were given Fertiliser and equipment. I will give him 85 % in terms of development rating for 2024.” he said

Mr. Dampha further elaborated on the successful hosting of the OIC Summit in the Gambia as well as the availing of a conclusive environment for private businesses and development initiatives to flourish.

“Hamidou Jah is producing Gambian-grown rice thanks to the conclusive environment.”.

Mr. Dampha also described President Barrow as a problem solver, not a firefighter er, emphasizing that his principle is to investigate the genesis of the problem and find a duration solution to it.

“his development trajectory is more like a problem solver, not a firefighter. When there is a problem, he reacts quickly and finds out the root course of that problem. He worked on that and found a solution. He is a proactive leader.” he remarked.

Reacting to the recent allegations of vote rigging by the NPP, Mr Dampha said the government has distanced itself from such irresponsible and baseless allegations. He commended the charismatic Information Minister Dr Ismailia Ceesay, who applauded him for changing the government information flow dynamics.

“The government will not take the allegations lightly, it\
